Pallet configuration calculator

Plan your pallet before it ships.

We try every way of laying your cartons on the pallet, including mixing the two directions on one layer, and pick the one that fits the most.

Your cartons

Max height includes the pallet itself (about 15cm). Many pallet networks take up to 1.8m for a full pallet. Leave “cartons can be laid on their side” unticked for anything marked this way up.

Building a good pallet

Stack it so it arrives.

1

Keep it on the deck

No cartons hanging over the edge. Overhang crushes boxes and can be refused.

2

Heavy at the bottom

Put the heaviest cartons on the lower layers and keep the top flat.

3

Wrap it tight

Stretch wrap from the pallet base up, with corner boards for tall or heavy loads.

4

Label two sides

A pallet label and ASN on two sides, so we can book it in fast.

FAQs

Pallet questions, answered.

How many boxes fit on a UK pallet?

It depends on your carton size. A UK pallet is 1200 × 1000mm, so a 40 × 30cm carton fits 10 per layer. Use the calculator above to try your own sizes.

Does the max height include the pallet?

Yes. Pallet networks measure from the floor to the top of the load, so the pallet itself (about 15cm) counts towards the limit.

Can I mix carton directions on one layer?

Yes. Turning some cartons 90 degrees often fits more on each layer. The calculator tries this for you and shows the layout from above.

Should cartons hang over the edge of the pallet?

No. Overhanging cartons get crushed in transit and some networks will refuse them. The calculator only uses layouts that stay on the pallet.
