Dpd surcharge increase

Please be aware of the following communication from DPD;

I am writing to inform you that, effective March 16th, DPD will increase all fuel surcharges by 1.75%.
This adjustment directly responds to the unprecedented market volatility observed this week. As of March 4, 2026, global conditions have shifted from general uncertainty to a severe supply disruption. Key factors impacting this change include:

  • Strait of Hormuz Disruption: Following recent geopolitical escalations and the loss of Iranian leadership, navigation through the Strait—which carries up to 30% of the world’s oil supply—has effectively halted.

  • Logistical Barriers: Due to heightened security threats, many tankers cannot traverse the region or secure necessary insurance, physically removing millions of barrels of oil from the global market.

  • Immediate Market Impact: In response, international benchmarks surged over 13% this past Monday, causing UK fuel prices to rise by approximately 10p per litre overnight.

While we monitor these global events closely, this modest adjustment is necessary to ensure we maintain our service levels and keep our fleet on the road during this volatile period.

We appreciate your continued understanding and partnership. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please do not hesitate to reach out.
